ANEES (أنيس) is an offline-first Islamic companion app for prayer times, Qibla direction, Quran reading and audio, bookmarks, notes, and reading goals. This page explains what data the app uses and how.
ANEES does not require you to create an account and does not collect your name, email address, or any other personal identifiers. All of your bookmarks, highlights, notes, reading progress, and settings are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to us or to any third party.
If you grant location access, ANEES uses your device's location to:
Your coordinates may be sent to the Aladhan API (aladhan.com) solely to retrieve prayer time data for that location. Location data is processed on your device and is not stored on any server we operate, sold, or shared with advertisers.
When you play Quran recitations, audio is streamed from EveryAyah.com, and word-by-word timing data is fetched from the QuranCDN API (api.qurancdn.com). These requests include standard technical information (such as your IP address) that is inherent to any internet request, but ANEES does not attach any personal identifiers to them.
Prayer time and reading reminder notifications are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device using local notifications. No notification content is sent to or from a remote server.
ANEES does not include any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We do not collect, sell, or share your personal data with third parties.
ANEES does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app is suitable for all ages and contains no user-generated content shared with others.
